New information from the well-known source @Jukanlosreve, based on comments by LG Display senior researcher Park Kyung-woo, suggests that the number of OLED panels used in iPads will increase next year.
Along with this, an interesting prediction has surfaced:
We may see new iPad Pro models powered by Apple’s yet-to-be-announced M5 chipset, which is currently under active development. These devices are expected to hit the market by the end of 2025.
Given the timing, it’s likely that these tablets will launch in the second half of 2025, with some analysts predicting a release around October.
Mark Gurman, a journalist renowned for his Apple insights, has a similar prediction. According to him, the M5-powered iPad Pro could debut either in late 2025 or early 2026.
As for the design, no significant changes are anticipated. The upgrade will focus primarily on boosting performance. Apple made some design adjustments with the latest iPad Pro generation, and more substantial changes are expected in the subsequent iteration.
Apple seems to be playing catch-up, especially since no new tablets were released in 2023. This year brought the iPad Pro and iPad Air updates, and a new entry-level tablet is expected in the next 12 months.
What about the rumored foldable iPad?
According to reports, plans for such a device have been pushed back to at least 2026. Speculation suggests that a foldable iPhone is more likely to arrive before a foldable iPad.
